Are those sidewalks they are putting down the middle of 400? Why? The workmen and their trucks and other equipment are causing slowdowns and congestion. How long will this last?

There may have been a thread about this last week but I cannot find it.

Could it be the cable median?

They are cable medians...a lot of commuters were calling in asking if they were sidewalks. Can't wait to take a stroll...

This is Atlanta, baby! What the heck do we need sidewalks for when we have cars?!?

I do think it would be funny on one of those backed-up, bumper-to-bumper 400 South mornings to see someone just get out of their car and try out the new path!

Or take a bicycle ride perhaps....out west here I have actually seen people riding their bikes on the emergency shoulders....I have seen it a few times, so it must be ok here in CA.

They're for the illegal immigrants that are occasionally seen dashing across 400 (previous threads by someone).

Why so many "??????" in the subject line (?) Sidewalks cause a panic attack?

Believe me while sitting there I was tempted. It would be funny if we all just parked our cars in the lane where they stood and started walking. I sometimes fantasize while just sitting there about my car turning into a hover craft and flying above the masses.

pinetree lover-believe me while sitting there I was tempted to start walking. that would be quite a sight to see cars parked where they stood and masses of people just walking down the middle of 400 briefcases, back packs, purses etc in hand. thanks for the visual I'll think of it tomorrow morning during my commute.
