Just curious...

I lived near Moreland Ave. as a kid, and we had both a Burger Chef and a Lum's virtually next to each other.

As late as the early 80's, I recall a Lum's on Peachtree Street, near the now demolished Peaches Records.

Any recalled locations of either would be appreciated! Thanks!

Indeed I do...there was a Lum's at Piedmont and Pharr, and there was a Burger Chef at N Druid Hills and Clairmont in Decatur. When I was in HS, there was a rumor that Burger Chef used horsemeat in their burgers!

There was a Lum's on the road beside the KMart in Marietta, across from the Big Chicken!

There was a Burger Chef at Buford Highway & 285, in front of the Kmart, learned today.

Still hunting for other locations...

There was a Burger Chef right where the parking lot for the Hightower Marta Station is or right around there. It was on the North side of what is now ML King near the intersection with what is now Hamilton Holmes Drive (then called Hightower Road/Peyton Road). All I remember is getting toys with the food.

Check out the wikipedia entry. There's a link to Shawn Wolfe's Burger Chef photo gallery. Brings back some fond memories.

Default South Side

Hi,
Back in the day there was a Lum's on Campbellton Rd. SW and on Virginia Ave. in Hapeville.

There is an old Burger Chef on Buford Hwy, just south of Clairmont. Today it's some sort of used car lot office.

Yes - this is the Burger Chef that I remember going to as a kid.

I think there was a Lum's on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs near where the Longhorns is (south of Abernathy). Do I remember that correctly?

I think someone posted about the Lum's on Virginia Ave. I know it was at the airport, so it probably was VA.

Does anyone remember the Waldorf restuarant on Ponce de Leon? I was driving done Ponce yesterday and I remembered that it was where there is now a Mexican resturant. Wanted to stop at the Majestic, but didn't have time.
