Does anyone know the exact date the H&M is supposed to open up. Everywhere I look I keep seeing March but nothing has an exact date in March and it is still not open last time I checked. I was curious because I am thinking they are going to push the open date to some time in April. Any help??

I'm sure you could find an answer by contacting their corporate office:

H&M Hennes & Mauritz LP
215 Park Ave. South, 15th floor
New York, N.Y. 10003
Tel: +1 - 212 564 9922

H&M's opening has been delayed until May because of the construction problems with those buildings at Atlantic Station. They are also opening stores at Northpoint, Mall of Georgia, Town Center Cobb, and possibly Town Brookhaven ( I can't remember but there's one more).

Construction problems at Atlantic Station? Unimaginable.

What makes H&M such a great store? I had never heard about it until I read another post on this forum a few weeks ago. What American store would you guys compare it to?

H&M is only interesting because we do not have one here. Zara carries the same "trend" and it is already available. Their strength is in quick turnaround from designing stage to actual products. Also, I have been to many H&M locations in Manhattan with poor selection. Not all H&M's are created equally. Expect the first Metro Atlanta location to suck harder than the worst H&M store in Manhattan. We also need Uniqlo here!

This is not the first time I've heard this.

H&M carries fashion-forward designs (trendy) at super cheap prices. Think a blazer for $39, button up shirts for $19, and dresses for $50. It's amazingly cheap and super for selection! Everytime I've gone into one in the city, or now here in Stamford, I've found exactly what I'm looking for. My big problem with the stores is that they are always super crowded. Usually packed. I try to go at odd times to beat the rush. Atlanta will love H&M...it's a gem of a store.

Did someone say Zara is available in the US. Where???? I am over here in England panic buying from Zara, Mango (another Zara like store in England), Next and H&M. In fact I spent about $70 today in H&M.

I just hope that my clothes size doesn't change, I have quite a stash of clothes in reserve.

Where is the nearest Zara store?
