This area is not well known for Basketball. Football rules. This area has some of the best programs, practice facilities, stadiums, and coaches, so football families move into hese areas to develop their football playing kids.

It's a NCAA recruiting hot spot. In the local papers there, they print a list of local kids to watch in the NCAA football games the Friday before the games, and the list is extensive.

And one of the latest additions to this list is Issac Okoro, who starred on the McEachern High School boys basketball team that went undefeated en route to winning the 2019 Georgia High School Association Class 7A State Championship and being recognized as one of the best boys high school basketball teams in Georgia’s history.

Okoro played one year of college basketball at Auburn University before being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 5th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
