Eleven games remain in the 2020 season. The season is salvageable if Quinn's interim successor can keep the team focused.

The upcoming offseason should involve last repairs to help Ryan and Jones win, or the Falcons go into a complete rebuild sooner than later.

Plus, Ryan and Jones aren't going anywhere until after 2022 due to their major cap hits.

This is a lost season. Its all about the Bravos in ATL. Back to the Falcons, well, they need another QB. I've always defended Ryan but he carries the stench of the worst choke in all of sports and hadn't been the same since then. Got rid of Thomas and Dan....#2 needs to go too.

Y'all act like elite QBs just grow on trees. Ryan may not be top tier but he's not the problem. We do need a QB for the future though.

That's a very simple view of how the nfl works.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank explains decision to fire Dan Quinn, Thomas Dimitroff

"Falcons owner Arthur Blank was very blunt on Monday when discussing the decision to fire both Quinn and Dimitroff. He said ownership made it clear entering the season that there was a “playoff or bust” mandate..."

They would be wise to tank the year and gun for the top spot and Lawrence, he will be a Peyton Manning esque NFL QB.

I agree NFL QBs don't grow on trees, but he's about as close to one as you'll find in the draft in the foreseeable future.

Ryan is serviceable, but he is not great, he's a statistical QB, he's great for fantasy if not throwing INTs, but he's an average to slightly above average QB otherwise. There are unfortunately only 4-5 great QBs at any one time, Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Wilson, Mahomes, Jackson. Jackson is amazing, but hasn't exactly proven he can do it in the playoffs yet.

Then it drops off significantly from there, Prescott, Watson, Ryan, Wentz, Stafford, Tannehill, Cousins, Garoppolo, etc. Guys that can show flashes, but maybe haven't done it in the playoffs or aren't consistent enough.

The issue I've always had with Ryan is that he has great hall of fame WRs/TEs around him for most of his career and he's still just good, not great.

Look at the others, they aren't necessarily playing with HOF talent around them in key positions and are still performing.

If Ryan had such an offense, I question if he could do it as he has seemed too reliant on Julio, etc.

So what should the Falcons have done in the 2008 draft?
