We’re seeking to buy a SFH in the above mentioned towns and like each area for different reasons. However, we are not locals. Does anybody have pros or cons that we might not know or have any input which area will probably have higher desirability in the future? And which school’s reputations have a higher chance of improving? Thanks!

FWIW, this is what recently took place in Hoschton...

Mayor reportedly denies black candidate leading role in city because the town isn't ready for it.

The city boundaries are very confusing in that area, and it’s also a location where four counties converge: Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, and Barrow. My recommendation would be to pay more attention to school cluster instead of city name when you buy a property. Your best bet would probably be houses zoned for Mill Creek high school or Flowery Branch high school. Both are good choices, although Mill Creek is too large for some people. Cherokee Bluff is a new school in Hall County as well which would be fine, too.

Citidata18 yes, that news is disgusting and definitely gives us a pause. Hopefully it’s dealt with swiftly and not the norm around there???

OhioNative- thanks for the heads up on the school choices! I’m also wondering how the Jackson County schools will improve after the HS is built and more newcomers being attracted to the area? Hopefully it’s promising for long term real estate values.

I know a lot of people who really like Jackson County schools, and with all the growth in that area I’m sure they will continue to improve. However, that area is still considered a little bit “country” and not as suburban as the area around Chateau Elan and the Medical Center in Braselton.

Default Study finds Braselton is safest city in Georgia

A new study by alarms.org has found that the exurban Northeast metro Atlanta/Northeast Georgia municipality of Braselton (which straddles the counties of Gwinnett, Hall, Barrow and Jackson) is the safest city in the entire state.

Quote:
A new study finds that Braselton is Georgia's safest city and that another Northeast Georgia town, Jefferson, is in the top five, with Gainesville coming in 31st.

alarms.org says Braselton is the safest community in Georgia "by a wide margin." According to the report, "the small town, which straddles 4 different counties (including Hall), recorded just 1 violent crime in 2018, and its property crime rate was nearly 5 times lower than the Georgia statewide rate."
