I believe Clairmont campus is now only for undergrads, which is unfortunate for grad students. If I'm wrong, then that is a great option -- people generally like living there.

And yes, traffic really is that bad. I live about 5 miles from campus and it usually takes me 30 minutes to get to campus in the morning, longer to get home in the afternoon. There are only a few main roads, which everyone takes, and the lights are not timed well at all. That said, if you're within a couple of miles, driving shouldn't be horrible.

It's not all that terrible if you live within 5 miles of campus.

Beware that Emory charges a ton for parking now-a-days. They're trying to reduce the amount of cars accessing campus.

And there's no public parking within walking distance of campus.

But, I don't think most apartments charg for parking.

Neither do I...most of the complexes around there are gated and have parking passes.
