I feel safer sometimes in this area than Buckhead IMO.
That's simply ludicrous.

There are some desirable places to live in Fulton County, however they're in the northern part of the county. Otherwise, you can keep the entire county.

There are so many other great places to live out in suburbia in the Atlanta area.

I lived there 12 years, but left 17 years ago because of the debilitating traffic and a company consolidating jobs in Wisconsin (of all places.) I still have a place up in in the mountains that's just lovely, however.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I went to see the neighborhood and I am no longer considering it.

If you were looking in that neighborhood why not consider the nicer parts of East Point, Hapeville, and College Park instead. The closer to the noisy train tracks, the better for numerous reasons (proximity to highway ramps, walkable restos/stores, Delta HQ, airport, etc.).

I lived in those 3 cities from 2009 to 2015 and definitely felt they were much nicer than Riverdale and that area you initially mentioned. Good luck in your search!
