Hi everyone! We are moving to GA within the next few months. We really love Milton and are doing a lot of house hunting. We looked at a couple homes in Manor Golf & CC. I am just wondering if anyone lives there or knows people who live there. Just trying to get a feel for the community. Any information would be appreciated! Thank you!

Your going to need to find a realtor who knows the community. For 99% of city-data users a $2 million house is out of our budget.

I know a great agent.

Manor is great. I would be a little weary of the imminent real estate pull back. That area was particularly impacted the last go around. May find a great discount in a year or so.

Milton is a very nice place. It feels rural and pretty. They have a 1 acre minimum lot size. Schools are good and there is general affluence. It's close to the mountains, and the job center of alpharetta.

cons would be that its a bit sterile, lacks a fully developed core (although that's being worked on), and is a pretty steep drive to most job centers (w/exception of alpharetta). If you like to go into the city a lot, then it's a bit of a hike.

I have no knowledge of Manor Golf, only to say on the map it looks fairly far out there.

Research it, there are 2 sections to The Manor, 1 gated, 1 not and plenty of homes less than someones $2M comment

The Manor is a very nice community. The clubhouse, pool, and restaurant amenities are fantastic. Both sides of the Manor are gated, and it has a very nice feel to it. Most of it is also districted for Cambridge HS which is a fantastic school. I'm not entirely sure, but I believe there is a small section of the Manor in Cherokee County. Overall, it is an amazing neighborhood. Milton is definitely a bit of a drive to downtown Atlanta, but the surrounding areas and job centers of Cumming, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, etc fill almost every single need with areas like Avalon, Halcyon, DT Alpharetta, North Point, etc. Milton is also working on creating a very nice DT as well.

I have a friend who lives there. It is a very nice upscale golf community. The golf course and clubhouse are very nice even though they don’t carry the prestige of some of the clubs in the area eg Hawks Ridge , Capital City Crabapple, Atlanta Athletic etc. The houses in the Manor are all nice, although some are a bit over the top for my taste and feel a bit McMansionish to me. If that doesn’t bother you then go for it. If I were moving to Milton, I would go for more land outside of a planned subdivision.

I would say the Manor carries an equal amount of prestige in regards to those clubs, but I agree that a house with land in Milton can be equally as nice if not nicer than anything in the Manor.
