Hi. I need to take someone out for a special birthday and they have requested a steakhouse. Our party will include people ranging in age from 7 (beautifully behaved, really) to 75 (sometimes grumpy and very high standards).

Any one want to suggest a great one... Bones, Chops, Prime, etc...

Kevin Rahbun Steak is supposed to be really good.

My personal favorite is McKendricks!

I vote for Kevin Rathbun's Steaks. My chunk of meat was awesome! Great steak houses are why I could never become a vegetarian.

This is not a true streakhouse in the traditional sense, but I would suggest Fogo de Chao (Welcome to Fogo de Chão (http://www.fogodechao.com/locations/atlantaGA.htm - broken link)). Just as an FYI, it is a Brazilian steakhouse with a fixed price menu. It is all you can eat, and the servers "rush" to your table with an assortment of meats as soon as you turn your card to green indicating that you are ready for more! They have wonderful steaks and other meats, and the salad bar is also quite nice! I also think that it might be better suited for the little ones in your party.... I am sure that they would love watching the meat being carved right at your table.

We have been to Chops and Bones, and they are quite nice too. They are more formal and dressy than Fogo de Chao... I guess it just depends what you want. Let us know what you decide!

Bang for the buck, and they're as good as anyone mentioned above (if not better), except I do love Ruth's Chris, I vote Long Horn. I swear by their steaks and sweet potatoes.

Party of 7, still nice, still not cheap, but you'll save some cash. I've been to Bones and Chops on 'gift card' present to my fiance from work. It's hard for me to swallow more than $20 on a steak (except Ruth's Chris and a mesquite style steak). She finally agreed after two visits their steaks are at par or worse than Long Horn. They're not bad, just not worth the money, IMO.

My favorite steakhouses in Atlanta are Capital Grille, Bones, and Fogo. Can't go wrong with any of those.
I've also heard Kevin Rathbun Steak is the best/hottest restaurant in town right now.
