They're from Athens.
Half the people on that list aren’t from Atlanta.

They specifically mentioned Georgia multiple times in the announcement, including planned outreach to the rest of the state. For what it's worth, all of the people listed are from Georgia.

Not even close. James Brown is from South Carolina. Mayer? Connecticut. Not going to waste my time naming all the places these people are from. Simply playing music here or recording here doesn’t make you have any real connection to Atlanta or Georgia. Stone Temple Pilots recorded an album in Atlanta (Purple) it doesn’t mean anything really as they have no connection to the city or state.

James Brown and John Mayer certainly do. They gained success here and made their homes here.

And there are many others with artists like Cardi B who live here now. Worldwide pop culture, radio play, Atlanta musicians are a lot more influential than Nashville artists.

It's not just well known ones that we can display. This museum may be a way to let people know about the unique local artists such as Colonel Bruce Hampton. Did I used the word "unique" correctly?

Besides Nashville I would say Los Angeles, New Orleans, Chicago, New York, Detroit Memphis are all bigger music capitals than Atlanta even if some of them are historic music capitals.
Nashville has a long, storied musical history but it AIN'T the music capital of the world, other than Country and Western. And you left out Phillly, Memphis and and Texas as big contributors.
