Hi,

So basically I am looking to buy a house near Atlanta Airport.

Info:

1. Budget // No more than 250k$

2. House/Condo/Townhome? House

3. Employment Status(commute/work from home): Commute. I work at the Airport.

4. Children(public school vs. private): No children and will not have any.

5. Suburban or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of the two: I prefer Suburban if possible. However, I love it to be close to the city.

6. Easy access to public transit, important or not?: Not

7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood.: Lowest crime rate near atlanta airport (good neighborhood). That is the most important point.

Heard of: Jefferson Park, College Park, Hapeville, but I dont know.

Thank you,

Since schools aren't a priority, you might also be able to find a home for your budget in Union City or Fairburn.

You mean your first pick would be Fairburn over UC?

Even though College Park is improving and there is plenty of new construction projects, many areas are still unsavory (particularly around Old National Highway, south of the airport). Same goes for East Point. Hapeville is better, but I agree with the other posters that Union City, Fairburn, Tyrone, Peachtree City and Stockbridge are good options.

Thank you. I am currently living in McDonough and I dont really like Stockbridge.. McDonough is nice tho. However, commuting is such a big deal and now I really want to be close to the airport. Read that theres no traffic on hwy 85 which is pretty important.

I don't think a maximum budget of $250K for a home will get much in Newnan, Fayetteville, Tyrone, PTC, etc.

I would look westward along S.Fulton Pkwy west of Roosevelt Hwy. Its been some time since I have been in that area but it was sparse enough that crime shouldn't be too much an issue for the neighborhoods in that immediate vicinity. It will also keep you pretty close to the Airport.

Just be careful when you are looking these days.

With so few flights these days, you could find something right under a flight path... then, some day when flights resume, you'll realize it and it will be too late.

I wouldn't look TOO close to the airport for sure.

A lot of people also don't realize how horrible air pollution from airplanes really is, so keep your health in mind.
