It's a shame the impotent APD won't do this. There's so little intervention by law enforcement in Buckhead that groups have started using our cul-de-sac to do burnouts every weekend after midnight. Deafening noise that can be heard from miles away, and not a single cop has responded, even after numerous complaints.

Thumbs up to Victor Hill. That’s the type of overwhelming show of force that’s needed.

You might have to take this into your own hands. Me personally I would look at ways to damage the cars doing this.

I have too much to lose to get involved with these carbon-copy man-children who can't distinguish fantasy from reality. My neighbors and I (and area businesses) will eventually just move.

Has APD said why they won’t do anything? Hate you and your neighbors are in this ridiculous situation.

The only thing that I can immediately think of to discourage drag racing and laying drag on residential streets are speed humps.

But speed humps, which are a good long-term solution, can take much money and some time and effort to be installed and are not of any use when the problem is happening right now.

I’d throw a brick or cinder block through the front or rear windshield. Heck lob a brick and put a huge dent in the car. About 20 years ago a neighbor on our street took a baseball bat to a guy who was stealing lawn equipment. He didn’t steal on our street anymore after that. Sometimes a point needs to be made.

Yep...

Hence, an example of why the idea of Buckhead seceding into its own incorporated city, while appearing to have gone nowhere during the current legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly, potentially may still have legs, potentially as a late add-on that is sneakily hidden in another bill before Sine Die, or in the form of a return as a stand-alone measure during a not-too-distant future session of the Georgia Legislature.

Not to mention the effect that the feeling of lawlessness in some key quarters of the city potentially might have on the outcome of this year’s mayoral election in the City of Atlanta proper.

Looks like the new play is for Buckhead to be annexed by Sandy Springs or Brookhaven each who have their own police and services that are far superior to CoA. Another angle to this is some local politicians claim that Buckhead was illegally annexed by the city way back when making leaving even easier. These aren’t my thoughts I am just the messenger of what I have heard being discussed.
