Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) bought about 7 acres from Lit/Hodges Industrial Trust for $1.1 million and another 10 acres from Macq LLC for $1 million, according to Fulton County property deeds.

The sites may offer additional infrastructure to support Microsoft's two incoming Fulton County data centers, which will be in East Point and Palmetto. The company announced metro Atlanta as its “East US 3” data center region last February to support faster access and Microsoft Azure cloud services.

NGHS (Northeast Georgia Health System) to hold groundbreaking for new ambulatory surgery center on its Braselton campus

Default Used-car seller Carvana plans to add up to 3,500 new jobs in Georgia

Here’s a story that some metro Atlantans and Georgians may find to be interesting about Pepsi announcing a massive expansion of its bottling plant operations in the very heart of Coca-Cola country.

TUCKER, GA—The Tucker Pepsico bottling plant, located at 1644 Rock Mountain Boulevard, is planning a massive $260 million expansion that will create 136 new jobs.

The plant currently employs 464 people. The new positions will include roles in digitized manufacturing tools, artificial intelligence and augmented reality tools as well as real-time analytics for machine operators and mechanics and raise the average wage for employees from $49,000 to $60,000.

The facility, which is expected to be complete by 2024, will expand by more than 260,000 square feet, making it one of Pepsi’s largest manufacturing plants. By 2025, Pepsi estimates the Tucker plant’s production will quintuple due to its expansion.
