A Rosetta Stone poll commissioned by the Buckhead City Committee shows that 62 percent of Buckhead residents appear to support having the opportunity to vote on the issue of Buckhead cityhood.

That 62 percent figure, while still seemingly reflecting a sizable majority, appears to be significantly lower than some of the earliest polls on the issue which appeared to show as many as nearly 80 percent of Buckhead residents being in support of at least a vote on Buckhead cityhood.

ATLANTA — A poll shows the majority of people who live in Buckhead want the chance to vote on whether the area should split from Atlanta and form its own city, according to a group pushing for cityhood.

The opposition, however, believe people are underestimating the consequences of splitting away from Atlanta.

Bill White, the CEO of the Buckhead City Committee said the latest poll his committee commissioned through Rosetta Stone shows 62% of Buckhead residents want to put this issue to a vote.

Agreed. I think however the Mayoral race shakes out could have a major impact on this.

I imagine those numbers will end up a good bit higher. Hope it happens for the folks in Buckhead.

This was a poll commissioned by the cityhood group, you would think it would be in the 80% range.

Talk to residents of Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Peachtree Corners, Chattahoochee Hills, Lavista, Tucker .... the upside has outweighed most concerns.

When there is a thread about shootings in Buckhead that are updated nearly every other day, its a problem.
