I understand your viewpoint. However, since Midtown is one of Atlanta’s most sought after areas, gridded to promote urban density and land is at a premium, we’re likely to see an increasing amount of high rises as long as employers keep flocking there.

I'm just old fashioned. It would be great to have the walkable, urban density of a city like Barcelona or London, but I guess that's not our destiny.

Agreed- especially sans the parking podiums. Still, it is nice to see something replace the bank on Peachtree Place, which has never really fit in with that neighborhood. I hope that whatever goes there fits well with the apartments across the street, one of my favorite buildings in midtown, and a good example of the type of thing we need more of in ATL.
