In theory, I really love Serenbe, but maybe as a weekend getaway. It's too far from our day-to-day connections to friends, jobs, church and family to make it viable as a full-time place. I know families there who keep an apartment or condo in the city so their kids can still be close to their friends and private schools during the week. The Cathy family subsidizes a couple of Acton Academy schools there and at Trilith to make living that far away from even Woodward palatable, but I'm not sure about it, yet.

Hedgewood Homes is responsible for much of this European-style development at Serenbe, and they've built great communities in Lake Claire, Piedmont/Cheshire and in Summer Hill, and I'll eagerly be watching this development. For retirement, I've got my eyes on the 5-acre ranchettes to build a custom home with breathing room.
