We are relocating to Sandy Springs, Ga. from Baltimore. We have been told to live where you work and that Riverwood is a very good high school. We have been down looking at houses twice, $400-$600 range. Can anynone assist us as to what neighborhoods are better than others? Any info on Amberglades, River Shore, Meadowood? Any other suggestions?

I would also look in the Heards Ferry neighborhood, adjacent to Riverwood. Great deals on homes and it's a wonderful family friendly neighborhood. North Harbor is another one that is very popular and has a swim/tennis which is great.

Rivershore is a great neighborhood. The houses are all very well-maintained and comparable in size. It has not suffered from too much tear-down and McMansion building so has maintained a "normal" neighborhood feel.

Riverwood is a great high school. About 10 - 12 % of the kids are tuition paying as they come by choice from other parts of the county. Ridgeview Charter School is the primary middle school that feeds into Riverwood.

This is my neighborhood so keep asking questions - I'd be glad to help!

Actually, tuition paying students are those who come from outside of Fulton County which makes it even more impressive. I know at least a dozen City of ATlatna and DeKalb families that pay tuition to attend. (It is very unusual in Metro Atlanta to have families pay to attend a public school.)

We have the perfect house in your price range! It's in the Riverwood school district, great neighborhood with friendly neighbors, and convenient, inside-the-perimeter location with suburban feel. It's a beautiful home with an amazing kitchen, finished basement and great, open floorplan. Take a look: www.1009wescottlane.com
