We'll be in Savannah next week, and then Atlanta from there... any good places to go peach picking on the way? We're from Wisconsin. My kids love to go apple picking, but peaches don't fare as well here.

I've never seen a "pick your own" peach orchard, although I don't know any reason why it couldn't be done -- they aren't particularly hard to pick from the ground. You might be a couple of weeks late for south Georgia, though.

I'd suggest Googling for smaller peach orchards near your route (I-16, I-75 north from Macon) and emailing them asking if your daughters could pick a couple of peaches for $5. Some of them might well have a touch of yesteryear's Southern hospitality.

Try this link.
Where to find pick your own farms and orchards in Georgia for fruit, vegetables, pumpkins and Christmas trees.

I have great pictures, and memories, of my kids picking peaches in the NJ orchards. The fruit is very easy to reach from the ground.
