I haven't been--haven't heard anything 'terrible' --but we are headed into 50's/60's weather. If you want to come I would do it before the end of Feb.

Well, have not been to Sno Mountain but the park is nice.
As far as a place to stay check the Stone Mountain Lodge or the Marriott onsight. With the economy you may get a good deal if you call direct.

I read reviews of Sno Mountain when it first opened. I thought I read them on this board, but a search didn't bring them up. The biggest complaint was that the crowds limited the amount of times you could sled the mountain. I don't think anybody was able to get more than two rides in their alloted time (2 hours?). For that reason, the consensus was that it was too much money for the experience. I'm sure the lines have dropped considerably by now though.

We went to snow mountain and while it was fun for the kids, I thought it was overpriced for what it was. It was $25/ticket plus $8 parking. All that they had to do was a toboggan and a place to build snowmen. You were also allowed to go up to the top of the mountain on the rail car. I wouldn't spend the money again.

At this time of year I doubt that even Gatlinburg, TN has snow.

I can't comment about Snow Mountain, as I haven't been. My kids and I did go to Stone Mountain last summer, though, and stayed overnight at the Stone Mountain Inn so we wouldn't have to drive home after the Laser Show. It was actually MUCH nicer than I anticipated. Reasonably priced too. I'd put it on par with a nice Hampton Inn or something like that. I expected it to be kind of sleazy, but it wasn't at all. We had a TV blow a fuse on us, and for our trouble, they let us watch a kids' movie on demand for free. The restaurant, however, was pretty lousy. Don't waste your time there. I'd rather grab a bite in the Park.

Last time we were at Stone Mountain we had lunch at Miss Katie's. It was surprisingly good! I would recommend it. Oh, and when they say "hand tossed rolls" they really mean it!

The tickets are almost sold out. I don't want to go there to be only able to tube twice. The next option is NC. I really didn't want to drive that far though.
