I was unaware that people are currently fleeing the City of Atlanta.

That is what you would call unjustified or paranoid white flight, and it does still happen in some areas.
I was unaware this happened. So if the Cosby's move in next door, people will put their houses for sale?

There are still some areas where the folks wouldn't wait to see if the family were the Cosbys or if they belonged on an episode of Good Times - the for sale signs would go up immediately. You might however, go 1 mile and be in a neighborhood that would not react this way. Once you get into the "rural suburbs" surrounding Atlanta it's hit or miss that way.

wow, what a bunch of racist pricks to move because "African-Americans" are moving in. I hope I don't have any ignorant neighbors like this when I move there.

I think residential white flight from the city of Atlanta had pretty much run its course by the early 80s. Many businesses and most new residents continue to locate in the burbs but that may be a slightly different phenomenon.

People will move based on what type of blacks, hispanics, asians are moving in. Now with that said once an area or the schools go majority minority most whites will move out. That is just the way it is and has happened in more places in Atlanta to even mention.
