Just wanted to get a thread going on people's opinions of the various fireworks displays in Atlanta.

Where do you plan on going? What displays would you avoid? Any tips for people attending some of the bigger events?

Stone Mountain has a spectacular show - but it is very crowded as you would imagine. The fireworks are in conjunction with the laser show: Stone Mountain Park: Georgia theme park in Atlanta

Lenox Square: You could at least tax MARTA there. I am usually invited to an office building to watch the festivities: Simon.com - Event Details

Atlanta Braves: I can watch it from my house. I am sure there are many vantage points in the city where you won't be stuck in traffic all evening long: The Official Site of The Atlanta Braves: Official Info: Atlanta Braves 2008 individual game tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 29

I did the Decatur one last year. It was more like a tailgaiting party, which made it fun, because fireworks aren't exactly the most exciting thing in the world.

But...anything's fun when you've got a group of friends to help you make it fun....

I am heat adversive LOL so I prefer the kind we shoot off on our street, so that we can dine inside with friends.

There is a spot across the street from Atlanta Country Club (I haven't been up that way in quite a while) that is undeveloped land. You can park there and see about 3 or 4 different Country Club and City's firework displays! City of Chamblee's are pretty good too, but it gets crowded and hot. Yes, I might melt despite what my DH says!

Welcome to City of Norcross (http://www.norcrossga.net/news-article.php?ID=98 - broken link)

Norcross' is suppose to be fun and best of all it is on July 3rd! Duluth's is on the 3rd as well.

Here is a list I found on the internet from last year -- you would have to check to see what these groups are doing this year!

I almost hate to let this little secret out, but here goes: there is an office building that is on the northbound access road of I-85 between N Druid Hills and Clairmont Rd exits. It sits at the highest elevation in DeKalb County, and from the parking lot you have a perfect vantage point for viewing the Lenox fireworks without getting in the morass of traffic there.
