My husband and I finally decided to rent before buying in Atlanta. Now the dilemma is to find an apartment in one of these three areas. Any specific suggestions. We need 1-2 bedrooms, nice layout, close to restaurants, walkable area, diverse. Price range max $1200 I plan on working at Emory...don't mind driving there or catching the bus or Marta.
Please be specific guys...

I know of two apartment complexes in Inman Park. I don't know what they rent for but at least restaurants would literally be outside your front door.

A drive through Va-Hi should be enough to find a nice place to meet your needs. There are a lot of rentals on the south (Ponce) end of the Highlands -- St. Charles, Greenwood, etc. -- and your price range seems realistic.
