Hi!

I'm a spanish teacher who's gonna spend a month in Atlanta visiting my brother and I'm looking for something to do during the week, while my brother works. I don't really want an English Course or something like that, but some activities that could be really interesting, such as drama courses, sports, cooking... I really want to practice my english through any activity that is not really "teaching english" directed.

I'm going to be there since July 6th till August 4th.

Thanks!

Don't know what part of town you're in, but the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Druid Hills offers a variety of courses during the summer:

Check out the Fulton County Arts Council website (Fulton County Arts). There is a large selection of short classes for adults that are held all over the county from Sandy Springs to West End. The course offering is pretty varied including jazz, animation, sculpture and West African drumming.

Thank you, guys. I found a couple of interesting things out there.

I'm going to be in North Springs, near the Perimeter Hall.

I'm "all ears".

The Abernathy Arts Center Sandysprings.org - Abernathy Arts Center (http://www.sandysprings.org/visitor/abernathyarts.html - broken link) might be a convenient facility for you to take Fulton County Arts Council classes.

Yeap, that's what my brother told me yesterday. I'll ask personally on monday and see if there are more things to do there, because I'm not very interested on painting or pottery.

The real good one would be drama so I can practice both my hobby and the language.

Thank you!

If anyone is interested on learning how to cook spanish food... I would be glad of learning some american cooking.

I think that the Spruill Center near Perimeter Mall offers some summer courses as well.

I checked it, thank you. I saw a good course, 5 days, but it was for teenagers... ains. The Spruill Center was right 10 minutes on foot from my house. Thank you again!

I keep on searching.
