Hi,

my friend and I - we're both Black females - plan on visiting atl in the beginning of august from nyc and would like to know what's the best hotel or bed/breakfast to stay in that's close to the "happening" venues: restaurants, sight-seeing, clubs, etc.

We're really outgoing individuals and patronize many "hot spots" in nyc, so we're looking for real hot spots in ATL.

Thanks!

p.s. we're looking for trendy, mid-scale to upscale, good looking crowds!

Check in to Twelve at Atlanta Station. Not sure how affordable it is, but Atlantic Station has a lot happening - cool restaurants, night life, shopping... All within walking distance.

I detest Atlantic Station since it's brand new and gaudy. Buckhead would have been the area to go before they tore everything down. If you are looking for clubs then you want midtown. 112 just moved to midtown as well if you want more hip-hop and all black crowd. There is a Sheraton in Colony Square where you could probably get something reasonable. You will be within walking distance (3-4 blocks) of very good restaraunts and all of the best clubs/bars the city has left. There are other hotel options close to this as well obviously.

The old Sheraton is now the W...very cool, but 'reasonable' does not really apply to it.
