It just depends. I live and work in Alpharetta. I hardly ever go to Suwanee or Marietta for that matter but on weekends and some nights venture into Atlanta (30 minutes) or Sandy Springs(20 minutes). GA400 moves fast. It's when you try to go east or west
using the two lane roads that take forever.

Getting over the river from Gwinnett to Fulton or Forsyth is also a bottleneck and adds time to the commute.

And you're right about the 45-60 on the commute Suwanee to Alpharetta. I didn't know how to edit after posting.

If you move close to where you work, traffic isn't an issue. Especially if you are able to work flex hours and/or telecommute.
