Does anyone know if the DeKalb water warning is still in effect? I first heard about it this morning.

DeKalb County, Georgia, USA (http://www.co.dekalb.ga.us/news.html# - broken link)

Default Thousands of DeKalb residents receive incorrect water bills

"Thousands of people in DeKalb County have abnormally high water bills.

A county spokesperson told us the water billing department is in the process of auditing 5,600 accounts.

Joe York and his wife received a $2,590 bill for two months of water usage..."

County decided to put in a new meter a while ago for no reason at all. Our bills have been all over the place since. She couldn't tell me why we got a new meter.

Default FYI...Boil water advisory issued for ALL of DeKalb County after main break (7.25.2015)

A boil water advisory was issued Saturday afternoon for the entirety of DeKalb County, as crews continued to deal with a water main break affecting service to tens of thousands of residents.

DeKalb’s Department of Watershed Management announced the boil water advisory just before 3 p.m., saying that repeated pressure reductions in the water system “might pose a potential of water quality issues.” The advisory is in effect for the entire county but targeted mainly at the affected areas of Tucker, Druid Hills, Avondale Estates, Decatur and Stone Mountain.

Initial tests showed “residual chlorine disinfectant present” and “no bacteriological contamination,” officials said. They said residents were OK to bathe but warned them not to swallow shower water — and urged babies to be washed via sponge bath.

“This ‘precautionary boil water advisory’ will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink,” the news release said..."
