1) Bums

2) Shirley Franklin mismanagement of tax dollars. Why should they relocated downtown only to give the city more money to "misplace"?

3) More Bums

4) Most of the employees are going to be relocated anyway - few will be for locals. Duluth is as good a place as any to get that dozen or so locals to fill the empty slots.

And once they are in the area they could be lured in town. Like the American Cancer Society just was last year. Not that it matters much, this is a big score for the metro area.

Why would a 70-person company that has no need to be downtown possibly want to move there? There's no draw for them to move and pay the higher rent, subject their employees to a commute into downtown, etc. While some may find it hard to believe, it is possible to conduct business just fine without being in a downtwon highrise...........

If you are in a business where you need to impress clients, you don't ship them up to some anonymous low profile suburb. You bring them up to a high rise with a view in the center of a cosmopolitan area. Its not just proximity to the airport, there is a prestige factor.

True, but they are basically a car dealers back end systems trying to save cash hardly prestigious.

Yes, unfortunately this company is undergoing cost cutting or belt tightening. It's not a good time for them to take a shiny high rise office in downtown and show off their financial strength. Their profit fell 47%, a bigh downturn. When they are cutting 20% of its workforce, how can they afford renting a place in a prestigious location? Personally, I don't think Duluth, Gwinnett should be called Atlanta. To make Atlanta name prestigious, its name should be used in limited proximity.
