Depends on the type of insurance company and what field you're experienced in. Few companies outside of life insurance are based here as GA's laws aren't quite as advantageous as some other states. Every company represented in personal lines have local branch offices for immediate underwriting and sales located in/around Atlanta.

I recommend searching Monster, Career Builder, and the inpdependent sites of insurance companies.

Maybe not based here, but for commercial insurance, at least, Atlanta is a HUGE insurance industry. Liberty Mutual, Hartford, Wausau, Great American, Ace, Travelers, Chubb, just to name a few all have substantial offices here. Plus reinsurers such as Arch Re, XL Re, Gen Re, and Swiss Re.

Monster and Career builder are good places to start. What branch of insurance do you have expertise in? Claims, underwriting, sales, etc. Also where is your area of expertise? Commercial or personal? Auto, Property, Work comp etc. This all dictates in what you can expect to find.

Ah, Unfortunately I know very little about the health insurance industry in Atlanta. Have you checked Monster/Career Builder?

Check out Wausau.

Their offices are in Alpharetta. They are a good operation and specialize in comp (although these days they do a bit of everything.) They wrote the very first Work Comp policy in the nation. They also tend to pay pretty competetively and are now in the Liberty Mutual umbrella so the job security is good as well.

You should be able to find some options in this city if you have experience in claims. Good luck.

Safeco, State Farm and Allstate all have large regional ops here - all on the Northside. Kaiser Permanente's SE HQ's are here, in Buckhead at Piedmont Center.

You should have no problem.
