Yes, but a bit more contemporary. The owners are from Dublin (Ireland, not GA) and wish to bring in the atmosphere of the trendy watering holes that are to be found on the current scene in their home city. Sounds intriguing.

I'm not sure you actually want it very dark, from what you say. My first thought from what you say would be good Columbian arabica -- it's famous for a reason! Just plain delicious. Or maybe a medium-roast Mocha Java or similar Indonesian.

I usually like a darker coffee but I brew it strong and use a lot of milk and a little sugar, ie Italian/French style.

I'm with you about not paying so much attention to the silly nuances they copy from wine-tasting. I can taste a little difference between various coffees, but they are fairly unimportant, and I definitely don't get "earthy with hints of vanilla and kiwi fruit".

Ended up getting the Trader Joe's Columbian Supreme and it's delicious! Much better than the Folgers I've been drinking...
