Are there any stores in Atlanta that cater to the hot sauce fiend? I'm looking for a particular obscure kind and would rather find a local source than have to mail order it every time I run out.

There is a "country store" across from Briarlake Elementary School... and they carry (or use to carry) a ton of different hot sauces

Hopefully, someone can post the name of the store...

David's Country Store.

And just down LaVista Rd at Oak Grove Rd is the Oak Grove Market, which also has a good selection.

If memory serves, Trader Joe's is a great place to go for this, too.

And last but not least, DeKalb Farmer's Market.

I guess I shoulda said where I'm at... I'm near Inman Park (east of downtown). I'm about to go give Trader Joe's a try, and if that fails roll on over towards Lavista Rd.

There are different types of hot sauce: Mexican, Asian, Indian, Mideastern, and etc. It all depends what kind is your favourite. I know Super H-Mart near Forest Park and Asian Market on Buford Hwy carry a great varieties of hot saurce.

I didn't make it out to Decatur to check out the places on Lavista, but the midtown Trader Joes was disappointing - they had all of two kinds of hot sauce in the store, both house brand. Price wasn't bad tho, maybe I'll get one or both when I'm looking to try a new kind - but I want some African Rhino peri-peri pepper sauce right now!

Try the Buford Highway Farmer's Market, just outside the perimeter on Buford Hwy. They have a great selection of hot sauces from all around the globe.

When is that open? I didn't see a website for them and didn't get an answer on the phone number I found.

Buford Highway Farmer's Market
5600 Buford Hwy NE
Doraville, GA 30340
(770) 455-3885

Is this the same number that you got?

The DeKalb Farmer's Market is an easy shot down DeKalb Avenue from Inman Park. I go there all the time from Inman Park.
