Flowerpot sandwiches?

Popular during the late 70's/early 80's, IIRC. There were several places around town that served them.

What was the place on P'tree in Buckhead that was known for them (well, known for that and tepid beer)? We were trying to remember that the other day.

Good Old Days Treehouse? There was one on Roswell Rd. across from American Pie back in the day, and I know they had the flowerpot thing going.

A place like The Earl today still hosts very good, smaller bands, but the 688 was of a totally different era (throw in the Metroplex for bonus points).

I'm a few years too young to have gone to 688 or the Metroplex, but I miss a bunch of music venues...The Point, Midtown Music Hall, the old Cotton Club, Moreland Avenue Tavern, Homage, Dottie's (especially when the stage had a fence across the front).

You might be interested to know that there's a 688/Metroplex "reunion show" at the Masquerade Music Park with tons of bands on Oct. 4. You can see the lineup at this link.

Buy Metroplex / 688 Reunion - A Benefit for Atlanta Music Museum tickets at Masquerade Music Park in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, October 4, 2008 - 3:00 PM

I miss the Flames. I have fond memories of going to ice hockey games as a child too.

Yes, it is at Lenox and you're right, it is still not the same thing. Riding around the tree close up and seeing how large it and the ornaments were was a great childhood memory.
