Hello,

I want to know if there are any Vanpools/Carpools from Winward Park/Hwy 9 area to downtown. I have already looked at rideshare , clean air campaign websites and could not find any. There are many from cumming area but none from Winward park and ride or hwy 9.

Also if any one is interested in Carpool between Alpharetta and midtown/downtown, please let me know.

Thanks,

Praveen

Isn't there a park and ride center there for MARTA? The bus is "express" to North Springs station and then you can take the train down to downtown/midtown.

My wife works in downtown for a company which has shuttle services from Civic center. Lots of her colleagues use Vanpool to come to work. Unfortunately she has not yet met with anyone using vanpool from winward area. So far we drive to north springs and she takes train to civic center and then boards on shuttle bus ( < 10 mins to her office).

I want to avoid car -> bus -> train -> bus->Office. I rather would have car -> van -> Office. I am sure there will be Vanpools from alpharetta to downtown but I just dont know where to find it.

Hi Praveen,

At what time do you drive from Alpharetta to the North Springs metro station? I have just started commuting there and the traffic on 400 S is terrible.
I do not know any car/van pools to downtown, so I can't help you there - sorry.

Have you tried contacting the Clean Air Campaign? They use the RideSmart campaign to organize carpools and vanpools.

I will be moving to alpharetta this weekend. I work in midtown (arts center) and my wife in downtown (Georgia Power). We were thinking of taking MARTA bus to northsprings station. If you work in midtown or downtown and dont mind carpooling, we can work out a schedule. My hours are fairly flexible.

Yes I did on that site. There are no vanpools listed there. For carpools, it forwards to ridesmart website where I already registered.

What beats me is that there are several options from cumming such as Vanpools, GRTA express bus, even lots of carpool'ers and very few from windward/hwy 9 area.

I was thinking that may be I am looking at the wrong place but I have searched for a while now and am yet to find any vanpools.

What am I missing?

It seems to me, that someone should be able to come up with a car/vanpooling app. If ride sharing was an easy, flexible option, it could help with Atlanta's traffic nightmares.

Looked at the link bellow for bus from Cumming to downtown.

https://www.xpressga.com/route-400/#ca17

I am looking for the vanpool from Cumming to Emory University or CDC.
