I need to commute from Alpharetta to near the Peachtree center station. I usually drive to the North Springs metro station and then take the train, but the drive from Alpharetta to North Springs metro station is taking a long time. Does anybody know a better alternate route?

I haven't tried driving after 9 AM - is the traffic on 400 S better then?

Perhaps park at Mansell Park/Ride? I'm considering doing that for my trips to the airport weekly. Parking is FREE ... however I believe you need to catch the #140 bus to/from North Springs station. Mansell park/ride lot is Mansell Road @GA 400.

Park and ride from either the Mansell or Windward lots would be an option, but that doesn't really change the amount of time it takes -- just lets you kick back and let someone else do the driving. There really aren't any alternate routes that would be any better -- your only two options for getting to North Springs by car are the ramp from 400 South or Peachtree-Dunwoody Road, and from Alpharetta there really aren't any routes that would get you to P'Tree-D'wdy any quicker than 400.

Traffic does get considerably better the later you go -- I was working with a client at Perimeter Center West and Mt. Vernon for a couple months, commuting from Holcomb Bridge east of 400, and it was typically a 20-25 minute drive if I left at 9 am, with nearly half of that being the 2 miles of HBR -- exit 7 to the MARTA exit would only be about 10 minutes most of the time after 9 am.

Thank you for the information. I guess I should try to commute after 9 AM then.
