Does anyone have any inside information about the children's school. How strong are the academics and how do the kids perform once they leave and go to other schools like Woodward?

Thanks

My husband and I have two children at TCS (this is our 6th year) and have been extremely happy with the school. The academics are top notch, but the thing that I love most about The Children's School is its nurturing environment and character education. It is very diverse, and children come from all over the metro area. 98% of the children leaving the school get into their first choice middle/jr high school. Woodward and Paideia are probably the schools that get the lion's share of TCS grads, but Westminster, Galloway, AGS, Pace and Marist also have plenty of TCS kids. Two years ago, I believe that Woodward's valedictorian, salutatorian and homecoming queen were all TCS graduates! I would definitely encourage you to take a look at the school. It is probably my favorite thing about Atlanta.

Do any TCS graduates go on to Inman/Grady or Shamrock/Druid Hills. Just curious...any percentages on this category.

Thank you advance.

Yes. Although most TCS grads continue on to other independent schools, some graduates choose public middle schools, especially those in highly regarded school districts such as Inman, etc.

Default Still unsure

Intownmom,

Did you always think the academics were top notch? I now have a child at the school, we are half way through the year and I am even less sure about the academics, particularly for the little ones.

I will say that I think it's a great social environment.
