Yes, traditionally a wrist corsage is appropriate, as are white tie and tails. He should check with whatever Presentation Committee is responsible, however.

I would call the girl's mother, just to be sure. The deb usually gets presented with flowers(I had 12 red roses) at the presentation. It's been years since I was a deb, but corsages were not given and everyone wore white gloves. Every organization has it's own traditions. I hope your son has a great time, I remember my debut fondly-still have the white dress!

I was not a debutante...but not because my mother didn't try. She gave up when I threatened to show up with my dress on fire.
Actually, I think she knew I'd never agree to do it so she didn't push too hard. She'd already had fun with it with my older sister.
