According to this website, the average household income in the City of Decatur is just over $82k. I think you'd be fine.

I'd say you'd like Conyers, Stone Mountain, or Decatur.
Decatur's a terrific community if you want to be close-in to the city. Decatur has good schools and is full of diversity and entertaining places to go, plus it has a subway stop. I love Decatur so much!! Conyers has a cute little downtown area and good schools & a lovely library...and is very close to Lithonia. Stone Mountain is just north of Lithonia and is by Stone Mountain Park, with diverse neighborhoods, but perhaps less community cohesion.
For vegan shopping, Decatur is definitely best... or the Virginia-Highland part of Atlanta.
I lived in Conyers for years and loved it, and each weekend made a trip to the DeKalb Farmer's Market, 30-40 minutes away, to stock up on veggies. That market is huge and amazing. I could roll out of there with masses of veggies for such a low price it was amazing! Every kind of fruit and vegetable on earth is there, on Ponce de Leon Avenue near Avondale Estates.
