Hey everyone! I have a possible job opportunity in the East Point area (God willing), and I was wondering of neighborhoods and/or suburbs within a reasonable commute of this area that are safe and good places to live. I am a single, woman in my mid-twenties, so safety, reasonable commute, and close shopping are major concerns for me. Any and all suggestions of places to live would be greatly appreciated!

I believe the area Tdiddy0027 is talking about is between 285 and 20 on Camp Creek Parkway, not East of 285. Douglasville may work as well.

I recommend looking in these areas (based on your criteria):

1. Historic Downtown East Point
2. Historic Downtown College Park
3. Most of Hapeville

(all areas are very close to your job)

All three areas offer cute/nice main streets, thriving/vibrant/improving downtown and historic districts, and quality housing.

*Note: For College Park and East Point I said "Historic Downtown" for a reason. Though other parts of both cities are very nice, many areas are still hit and miss. It's important for you to know this. Don't just say interested in "College Park" or "East Point"...you have to be specific to which parts (historic downtown!). For Hapeville, most of the city will suffice.

Also look into...

4. The Camp Creek Area
-in and around Camp Creek Marketplace (great shopping!)
-West of of I-285, not east of I-285!
-Points further west from Camp Creek Marketplace on Camp Creek
Parkway

5. Tributary (a master-planned community in Douglas County)
-The community is very nice, master-planned with range of housing options and prices. Very close to your work. I think you will really like this area as well. Can get to East Point by way of Camp Creek Parkway.

6. Cascade Road Area/Sandtown
-a few exits north of Camp Creek. Very nice.

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Default Eastpoint

OMG, I would live in Eastpoint if I could. I work in historic Norcross so it would not make sense, but if I worked any where remotely close (downtown or southside or westside) to Eastpoint I would home in on it. FYI - I am a single 30-something female.

Eastpoint is very cute with a lot of cute craftsman style bungalows at a reasonable price. They have a cute downtown area and some decent restaurants and bars. Eastpoint citizens really take pride in thier neighborhood as well. It's convenient to downtown as well as the airport. It has a great multi-ethnic balance. Sometimes I am sad that it's too far for my commute.

Thank you guys for all the replys. Camp Creek area has been recommended to me before. If I were doing an online search for places in this area, what zip code(s) or neighborhood name would I search for?

Default Landings at Oak Hill Apartments

Check out The Landings at Oak Hill in Union City, Georgia. Less than 1 mile from I-85 and beautiful landscaped grounds.

Sandtown, Cascade. Butner Rd, Campbelton Rd. There are a lot of small communities with associations in there, not really neighborhoods. I think the zip is mostly 30331 and a little of 30349 (but 30349 covers a very large area).
