Whoa, haven't heard about this. Do you have the link?

From the NYT:

...there has always been a rush to the polls by African-Americans early, it has also got our side energized, they see what is happening.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/30/us...yjUREF1j07yqdw

This is from Politico:

Quote:
The Republican is outwardly confident, but there's urgency in his voice as he tours North Georgia, trying to boost turnout in his predominately white base: "The other folks are voting," he bluntly tells supporters.
Obama shakes up Georgia's Senate race - David Rogers - Politico.com

The 'other folks,' hmmm, I wonder if that's southern for 'that one.' Clearly trying to incite white voters. Pathetic, but then again, some people never renounced the 'southern strategy.'

As I said, I don't deny that Martin is misrepresenting his views. I simply don't care given that dude has such a foul record for the doing the same to others. What he did to Max Cleland was shameful. It simply was. I can't believe that the Republicans, the kings of dirty politics actually have the nerve to complain about it.
I would like to see this article? Do you have the link?
Of course, I would second guess any "so-called" news from the New York Slime, just about as much as I do when it comes from the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation. Both have reduced themselves to tabloid rags. Heck, the answer is in the declining subscriptions in double digit percentages with the NYT and AJC claiming top prizes. This goes for folks on both the left and right.

Where is the link from a credible source that quotes Chambliss? As for the southern strategy, so what? Why is it that no one ever discusses why blacks vote in almost monolithic lockstep for whomever the Dem machine tells them to vote for? Democrats rely on 90+% of the black vote. They have a "black strategy".

David Scott has also been running commericals against Dr. Honneycut accusing her of not being black enough, and also using the 23% sales tax lie. The black establishment has always treated people like Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, etc. as being "Uncle Tom's" or less than black if they don't support the monolithic liberal agenda that blacks are supposed to support. It's shameful and demeaning to the black community, as people's votes are taken for granted and individuals are treated as not being capable of thinking as individuals.

Neil, I gave you TWO links that quote Chambliss. And if you don't understand why the southern strategy is both racist and wrong even after the chairman of the RNC apologized for and denounced it, there's nothing else I can say for you.

Black people vote for Democrats overwhelmingly because the Republicans have made it clear that they don't want our vote. In their appeal to Bubba, or Joe Six Pack or whatever euphemism they choose next they've made it clear that they will use racist tactics on so-called wedge issues. When Ronald Reagan launched his campaign from Philadelphia MS, site of the martyrdom of Goodman, Schwerner and Chaney their strategy was as plain as the nose on your face. So for the love of all things chocolate, let's not claim that somehow the Republicans come to the table with clean hands. They sowed this deliberately with malice aforethought. Now they're reaping the whirlwind of their own foul misdeeds.

When Republicans stop employing racist tactics and referring to black people as 'other folks' and 'that one' perhaps we might be willing to listen to what they have to say. But considering that 'the southern strategy' is apparently the only game they've got it'll be a cold day in hell before that happens.

Once again, it's NOT about supporting the fair tax or whether you agree with it, it's about the DISHONESTY of Martin's and the Democrats' ads.
No. Our current tax system is *progressive* the rates go up as someones income does. The only thing unfair about our current tax system is that the wealthy do not pay their share. Something Obama keeps saying he is going to do something about.

Anyway, enough about garbage tax policies.

I wanted to add to my initial post that I am not a big fan of Martin. In NYC he would be a Republican and a conservative one at that.

However, Saxby Chambliss is a reprehensible human being and deserves to lose.

Oh, and I've got no beef with Rice and Powell, other than, of course, their support for this war which aside for slaughtering thousands will probably eventually bankrupt this country. I've got respect for both of them for their accomplishments and obvious intellect.

Thomas, on the other hand, is a horse of a different color. (No pun intended). He's a lackey, a lapdog who threw his own sister under the bus, misrepresenting her as one of those legendary mythological welfare queens the Reagan administration was so fond of. When in reality, she worked in an oyster shucking factory for decades and only received welfare briefly when she took in her elderly aunt after her house had burned down and she was disabled. I think the man is a despicable pig.

Still another Democrat fantasy.

Progressive in the strict sense of something progressing from low to high, but regressive in that it discourages hard work and for people to invest their energy, time, and money to earn more money. What is the incentive for people to work hard when their ability to earn is capped by a taxing government.

As for the "fair share" comment, that is a socialist fantasy that has as much basis in fact as the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. The real scam is that we give tax "refunds" and "rebates" to people who pay no federal taxes. How can we cut taxes for those who pay none and tax those who do more to pay for it? This is the heart of the desire to redistribute wealth, fed by ignorance, jealousy, and class envy.

Another liberal tendency that I find absolutely disgusting...you can't disagree without personally attacking the person you disagree with and resorting to name calling.
