Unfortunately. I was hoping this would be the year Georgia changes its image, and also to follow suit with North Carolina. But I can't complain since Obama won.

Georgia will change as it's demographics continue to change. Changing demographics favor democrats.

actually, as of 3 this morning (and not all the votes are in) Chambliss is at 50.3 percent. We won't know the real outcome of this one until later today.

I do not understand why some people think it's such a travesty that McCain won Georgia....like it makes the state look stupid. Listen, I voted Obama, but I can respect that others have different views and voted differently and I am okay with that. I can also understand that just because popular opinion is that Obama is the right choice, it doesn't mean this is necessarily the truth....only time will tell. I just hope we made the right choice. One of the most annoying things about politics is the elitist snobbery that extreme left and right exhibit regarding their side of the argument. When I visit my in-laws in Massachussetts the irony of their snobbery and closed mindedness is infuriating b/c they do not recognize it. Likewise, when I tailgate with my college friends and hear some of their dogmatic opinions on social issues, I almost gag. I guess the good thing is that everyone can vote, so at least we can hash these things out.

I totally agree with this, I like balance and am glad the Dems did not hit the 60 seat mark. Obama has a really tough job ahead of him.

We've been doing things your way for eight years. You failed in every possible way at every possible opportunity.
