It is easy to see why so many folks want to form cities and get out of Fulton County. It has to honestly be the most incompetent government I have ever seen.
First the courthouse shootings because the deputies that were supposed to watching the place were out getting food for their boss. Then the 911 operator that has been disciplined 11 times for sleeping on the job and not handling 911 calls- finally she kills somebody and they fire her. Then the Libarary sued for millions of dollars over race discrimination.
Now the election- Cobb counted all the votes, Gwinnett counted all the votes. DeKalb likewise. Even Clayton managed to count all the votes! But Fulton- nope. Still cannot count the votes 5 days after the election!

Mismanagement and incompetence? No accountability? People appointed or hired due to who they know and not what they know?

Let's definitely indict an entire county government for the incompetence of an employee...and for law enforcement officers getting hungry...and for an "alleged" case discrimination...and for the unknown problems of election volunteers (do you know how many local governments had MUCH worse issues than vote-counting?). Come on, these are situations that could occur in any city, county, or state government or in private companies for that matter.

Do you live in Fulton County? If you do, I would suggest working toward fixing the aspects of FCG that you feel are substandard rather than simply complaining about them.

Thank you. Point well made. Fulton County has its problems, but good grief, so do the others. Can we, for once, not generalize an entire population based on a few incidents? I'm sick of it. I live in Fulton County, and grew up in Fulton County and have not had any problems. Good grief, give me a break. What a waste of thread.

You're joking right? I could sit here all night and name off reasons. I live in Cobb, but have worked/lived in Fulton for 10 years now. Fulton is a disaster!

Well then it is a very subdued, silent, and invisible disaster...I live in Fulton and my world is daisies and sunshine. Even if I hear about a mistake made by a Fulton County employee my world doesn't crumble. I hear just as much about errors, fraud, unprofessionalism, love affairs, impropriety, etc. in other counties as I do Fulton - but those other counties don't have the number of haters that Fulton has.

Well, you know, the true reason for all of the hatin' from these folks is that Fulton is a little too...um...dark.

And here we go again...any criticism towards someone of color must be because their black, not because they're incompetent. That attitude, from both blacks and whites, is what's stunted their progress since the civil rights days. Stop using race as a crutch.

I live in Fulton and go to the council meetings. Though some of the OP's issues aren't faults of the Fulton County management (e.g. a court shooting? Nichols is nuts and would have found a way to strike under just about anyone's watch.), Fulton certainly has a lot of problems. A major source of the issues is that Fulton was created from 2 counties, and it effectively acts like 2 today. The differences between N and S Fulton are pretty significant and it's a tough balancing act.

I was talking about the street lighting and sun angles, etc...

Fulton was created from 3 counties (Fulton, Milton, and Campbell).
