I have squirrels in my attic, and they're up there living the life! Just a few moments ago there was bumping, thumping, clawing and scratching which is the reason I'm here looking for answers to my problem. One night as I lay awake, I heard "munch, munch, munch"! The little critters were just eating and enjoying life. I'm about to go absolutely ballistic! HELP!!!

Rest assured, we are not alone:

Rat complaints multiply; extent of problem unclear | ajc.com (http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/stories/2009/01/25/atlanta_rats.html?cxntlid=homepage_tab_newstab - broken link)

If you scroll down, the article says that exterminators are noticing an increase in roof rat complaints.

Now that is some good comedy watching them jump on to the dome and then slide off.
There is also a battery operated one that will start spinning when it senses the weight of a squirrel on it. Great fun to watch it work!

Get rid of the left over dog, cat, gerbil, bird food at your haose and your neighbor's house and the rats and squirrels will almost all leave. Those that stay can be trapped with a small animal trap(bought at a good hardware store) baited with peanut butter. You must release all trapped vermin at least 5 miles from your house or they will return.

Default rats and squirrels in the attic

I found that leaving a bright light on in the Attic in the early fall when the vermin are looking for a nesting place upsets thier Night/day routine and they will go elsewhere to nest.
