You know what I am beginning to think Atlanta is liked more than dislike because in almost every city forum Atlanta is always either being bashed or being compared to every major city in USA ATL vs CHARLOTTE theres like 5 of those. atl vs dallas, atl or miami , atl like LA, Atl NYC of the south, Atl and houston similarities Atl vs Houston, which feels larger Atl or Boston. Atl vs Dallas. Its really funny can someone please explain this

atlantaatl, I think people have moved here from different places and or have lived in other places and for one reason or another have found themselves back here. So one would tend to compare notes. This site is suppose to be informational and a lot of people have moving questions, like what to expect when they move or what is this place similar to in their area kinda questions.

Yes...Atlanta is a transplant/relocation magnet. This can cause a lot of comparisons.
Moreover, Atlanta is known around the country as "hot and happening" place...this may bring about comparisons due to envy, jealousy, simple curiosity, or just wanting to see how their "city" compares to the Atlanta juggernaut.

It has been spawned out of the virulent, irrational and blind hatred that exists against our fair city.

Well, even with the downcycle the Atlanta metro area is still receiving over 100,000 new faces a year. So with this you have people going.
How is Atlanta vs ....................?

All I will say is yes Atlanta has it's issues. For me it's just to hot, but I'm loving it now, at least until May, but for those folks wanting a full opinion of what is in Atlanta, Please don't use the housewives show as reference!!!!!

I'm curious to know your opinion Professor Lovin (and yours too johnatl)...why do y'all think this virulent, irrational, and blind hatred exists against our lovely city in a forest?

It's just plain old jealousy and envy...simple as that.

Hi aries4118 - I think it's a combination of things, but there really is a lot of hatred out there for the South and Atlanta. I blame most of it on total regional ignorance and the supposed superiority of people from certain older and colder places.

I hope that made sense?
