I saw this article today:

Economy could revitalize Sunday alcohol fight | ajc.com (http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/stories/2008/12/18/sunday_alcohol_sales_georgia.html - broken link)

It's basically saying that there is a fight to overturn the law prohibiting buying alcohol on Sundays, and the argument is that it could help the economy recover.

Cool. I hope they also push the drinking hours to 4am on weekends. 2am, for most is when things start getting interesting (in the nightclubs).

The AJC survey showed almost 90% voting in favor of overturning the ban. So, the representatives can ignore what their constituents want for years, until money is mentioned. Politics as usual!

Laws prohibiting something that a lot of people desire will always create a black market...and an income opportunity for some adventageous people.
