Hi,

We've checked out quite a few apartments in Dunwoody, and narrowed down to these three. Any advice/opinions would be very welcome.

1. Dunwoody Place
Positives: Big, spacious apartment, close to the MARTA station
Negatives: Reviews in apartmentratings.com talk about break-ins and car thefts although it is a gated community

2. Windsor at Mount Vernon
Positives: Word of mouth says it's a good community, close to the MARTA station
Negatives: An older community

3. Gables Metropolitan
Positives: Nice community, luxury apartments
Negatives: More expensive, closer to I-285 than GA-400

I had friends who lived in #'s 2 and 3. In the Windsor community, he had liked it for a while and then moved when management changed (to the current mgmt company I think) as he said things started going downhill. Not sure of any specifics though.

For the Gables community, I have known a lot of people who lived there. The apartments were always very nice but you could hear people in the units above and beside you. (We couldn't have a decent conversation if his neighbors subwoofer was on - same friend who had lived in the Windsor). I know he complained to management about it and said they didn't do anything. He also had his car broken into and I know several other people who had the same problem. A different friend didn't like the fact that the pool was mobbed with 20 somethings in the summer, especially on weekends, though I am sure other people would like that.
