Hi I have recently moved to GA and am looking at taking an apartment let in Sand Springs but will be working in BallGround, does anybody have any idea how long the journey will take...... I will be planning to try to get to the office @ 8/8:30 and leave 6:00/6:30.

If you have any other suggestions of great places to live (I'm single and so the proximity to get into Atlanta, BuckHead etc. is really important).

Thx, J

That's one of those "you can't get there from here" kind of commutes. The only half-way decent route would be to take 400 up to Mansell Road or Holcomb Bridge, and follow 140 up until 372 breaks off, which leads to Ball Ground. 140 and 372 are two-lane roads with 45 mph speed limits, so you're not going to be getting anywhere quickly, and if you get caught behind a school bus you're screwed. The only saving grace is that you'll be going against traffic on 400, though Mansell and Holcomb Bridge get crowded on both directions. I'm betting you're in for an easy 1:15+ commute.

BTW- Google will tell you to take 400 down to 285, across to 75, and then up 575. That route is a few miles longer, and will probably take longer given the traffic on 400 and 285 at the times you're considering driving. If it was me, I'd look at renting somewhere on/near 75, as you'd have a straight shot up 75 to 575 into Ball Ground, and easy access to Buckhead and Atlanta for partying, which will usually involve travel during off hours.

^I concur with Bob - find a place in SE Cobb (Marietta, Smyrna, or Vinings). That'll give you direct access to I-75 to I-575 and THAT will truly be a reverse commute. However, it is still a 45 minute ride each way.
