Hi folks. The City-Data Forums were a huge help to my family when we relocated to ATL recently, so I thought I would give it a shot at helping me with my next challenge.

Our growing church in Decatur is on the lookout for a new home. We currently lease a building that is in disrepair and is no longer meeting our needs. I would welcome any advice, suggestions, leads, etc. regarding our search for a new place of worship. I work somewhat in residential real estate but have less knowledge of the commercial market, so even contacts for networking would be helpful (DM me with names and/or numbers).

Here are my basic specs: 5000 sq.ft. minimum, open area large enough to seat 200 adults for worship, several rooms for kids' ministry, parking for 80-100 cars. Right now we're limiting our search to Decatur and neighborhoods west - Candler Park, Inman Park, Kirkwood, etc.

Please, if you have any info or knowledge that might prove beneficial to me in this search, I would be grateful to hear it.

THANKS!!

A good solution may be to look to local movie theaters- they're empty on Sunday morning, and offer the capacity you're looking for. My church in Canton started out in the movie theater on Riverstone Parkway, and after three years actually outgrew it- we're up to around 1,000 members at two services.
