Legislature has finally been passed on Monday to let counties create 1% sales tax regions amongst themeselves to fund things like commuter rail. It still needs to be passed by voters.

Great, so now we have the possibility to have a commuter rail system that is stymied in basically the same way as MARTA.

Huh? That article says the legislation was TAKEN UP on Monday, not passed. Read it more carefully.

Atlanta needs more Rail seriously with all the people moving to atlanta and the Metro area Atlanta is going to need it. I dont know why people are against it. Afterwhile people will get tired of being stuck in traffic for hours

That was one of the few things i liked about DC... you could get on the metro rail and go pretty much anywhere.
