Ditto on that. Like Grant Park though as you said, they may never fully "get there", but they've improved in recent years.

Midtown is fine, but for 160k you may only be able to get a studio or 1BR older condo in that area for that amount.

ok, i did some research on this cascade area and it seems really promising. we'll be in atlanta next month for our wedding so we'll have only a day to see every neighborhood we're interested in.

our main concern now is missing out on a good home/rate due to the economy. we were already told that we'd be approved to buy a house now based on what we make but there's no guarantee we'll have jobs set up once we get there. well, there's no guarantee i'll have one- he's going to teach so it seems like a pretty good bet he'll be hired.
