I know -- I'm supposed to go to Calgary for two weeks on business starting the 16th, and in checking the weather, I've been surprised to see that even it's warmer than we are right now -- 30 F in my neighborhood, 54 F in Calgary.

But, at least we know this cold will end in the very near future! I don't mind a couple of days of frigid air, it sure beats freezing for months on end.

AMEN! Although this has been a cold winter, at least by my wimpy Southern Boy Standards.

Now see- I think the winter has been rather mild--I honestly expected 'blizzards' last fall. Last week and even yesterday were the crisp cool that I love in pre-spring. Water on my porch froze last night and the wind was howling. Still love this time of year and I'm pretty much a wimp.

Go figure?

That's why some people think that Atlanta is the coldest city in the United States (I've seriously come across people who have thought that). Of course, it's not an every day occurrence. Something rare. I can remember one day in a winter in the 90's when Atlanta's temp was colder than any other city in the U.S. on the Weather Channel map. Even Chicago, Detroit, and MSP were a few degrees warmer than ATL that day.

They need to pay more attention to places like International Falls, MN.
